OVERVIEW
Naval Hospital Corpus Christi (NHCC) is an outpatient facility
with three Branch Medical Clinics located in Kingsville, Ingleside and Ft.
Worth, Texas.
There are a variety of Primary Care, Specialty Care and
Ancillary Services available at the Naval Hospital, Inpatient medical and
surgical care is provided at a local inpatient facility through an external
Resource Sharing agreement. NHCC does not have an Emergency Room. All
emergencies are directed to the nearest civilian medical facility.
As a
valued beneficiary your healthcare is top priority and we will do everything
possible to make your visit with us pleasant and positive! We also
want you to have the best and most current information, so we are pleased to
present this information on the Standard Installation Topic Exchange Service
(SITES) to introduce you to our services.
Because we are privileged to
serve you, our healthcare team is committed to providing the highest quality
health service possible. All of our clinics offer routine primary and specialty
care, each supported by laboratory, radiology, physical therapy and
pharmaceutical services. We also have an extensive network of
specialty providers. Our professional staff assigns active duty
members to a Primary Care Manager to foster a better relationship and increase
confidence between patient and provider, and we offer all other beneficiaries
the opportunity to select a specific primary care provider of your choice in
order to experience that home town provider relationship.

atmosphere for you. We actively promote wellness, provide education
and training, and facilitate optimal health care because your well-being is one
of our greatest concerns.
It is our intention to provide you and your
family with prompt, courteous, and quality health care, and we will always treat

getting outstanding health care, please ask to see a Customer Relations
Representative. Each department and clinic has a representative
assigned to assist you in resolving your problems or addressing your
concerns. You will find their names and photographs posted in the

Naval
Hospital Corpus Christi does not have an Emergency Room. All

duty and TRICARE Prime members are the first priority of medical and surgical
services. All eligible beneficiaries are encouraged to enroll in
TRICARE Prime to ensure availability of services. Non-enrolled
beneficiaries are seen on a space available basis only.

Naval Hospital Corpus Christi
provides comprehensive Family
Based Care. We also provide and
coordinate out-patient care relative to the examination, diagnosis, treatment,
and referrals to consultative services for TRICARE prime active duty, retirees,
and their family members.
PROVIDERS
Pediatricians, Family
Practitioners, General Medical Officers, Physician Assistants and Nurse
Practitioners that collaborate closely with other clinical services of the Naval
Hospital and branch medical clinics.
APPOINTMENTS
Sick call,
routine, follow-up and wellness appointments are available Monday through Friday
0730 - 1630 and extended hours are available for acute appointments only on
Monday and Friday (0730 - 1600) by calling DSN: 861-2656/3157 OR 4502; COMM:
(361) 961-2656/3157 OR 4502. Military and Family Medicine Clinic
offers a cancellation line strictly to call in and cancel and appointment by
calling 961-2815.
SATURDAY CLINIC - 0830 - 1230
(Acute
appointments for TRICARE PRIME patiens only). December through
February, clinic is held every Saturday. March through November,
clinic is held the first and thrid Saturday of every month.
ACCESS
STANDARDS
No walk-in appointments are available. TRICARE PRIME
ENROLLEES have priority for all available appointments. NON-PRIME retirees and
their family members may be seen on a space available basis and may call to make
appointments after 1000 every morning.

The Military and Family Medical Clinic is open
Tuesday through Thursday from 0730 to 1630 (closed Thursday afternoon for
training)and Monday and Friday from 0730 to 2000.

CLINIC
Updates immunizations, administers vaccines, provides follow-up of
skin tests, educational handouts and instructions to patients related to
immunizations that are required and/or
needed.

EXCEPTIONAL FAMILY MEMBER PROGRAM
The EFMP
Coordinator is assigned to Naval Hospital Corpus Christi. Call
DSN:861-2255 or COMM:(361) 961-2225. The EFM Program is a mandatory
emrollment program per OPNAVINST 1754.2 (series) that identifies long term
medical and special education needs of family members and ensures assignment
condsideration of those needs when transferring. To ensure special needs of
family members are considered during assignment process, service members are
required to enroll when the special needs are identified or at least nine months
prior to Projected Rotation Date (PRD). This provides your detailer time to work
your next assigment and consider your family member's special needs as well as
your career needs and the Navy's needs. This program is open to any authorized
family member who meets the following criteria: *Physical, emotional, or other
disability, and/or *Long term chronic illness and/or *Long term special
educational needs. *Enrolled in DEERS, and *Residing with
sponsor.

MEMBER
Contact the National Information Center for Handicapped Children
and Youth at 1-800-999-5599 to obtain a State Resource Sheet, which will tell
you how to *Contact Children's Medical Services if your child's health care is
supported through a State Medical Program or to see if your family member
qualifies, as rules vary in each state. *Contact the Department of Special
Education to ensure the required services will be available in your new locale.
*Contact the Parent Information Training Center for assistance and training
regarding parents rights and responsibilities under Public Law 94-142 *Contact
the Parent to Parent Program to identify a parent support group or to start one
in your area. *Contact the Easter Seal Society regarding the Early Intervention
Program for infants with special needs.
