There is one high school in the Columbus Municipal School
District. Columbus High School (CHS) is housed in one of the most
beautiful and spacious facilities in the state. Students may choose
from over 122 courses, including accelerated and advanced placement
courses.
CHS has wireless carts with 28 laptops each,
instructional computer labs, and an electronic classroom.
CHS offers a
comprehensive array of opportunities for students scheduling courses that offer
124 Carnegie Units. Some of these activities are offered as part of
the curriculum, some are extra-curricular; some are sponsored by the school,
others are private clubs or organizations. More information may be

CHS has a
diverse student population and unique campus. With a student population of
approximately 1300, they strive to meet the needs of all students by providing a
wide selection of both required and elective courses.
Foreign languages
offered are Spanish, and French. They offer many extra and
co-curricular opportunities, such as Air Force JROTC, band, orchestra, choir,
show choir, and jazz orchestra. In addition, they have a vast array of clubs and
organizations, for example, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Family, Career,
and Community Leaders of America, Future Business Leaders of America, Future
Educators of America, Health Occupations Students of America, National
Vocational-Technical Honor Society, Distributive Education Clubs of America,
Technology Students of America, Sociedad Honoraria Hispanica, National Honor
Society, Spanish Club, Thespian Club, Student Council, National Beta Club, and
Vocational Industrial Club of America.
Sports available at CHS includes,
Football, Soccer, slow-pitch and fast-pitch softball, Track, Tennis,
Cheerleading, Swimming, Cross Country, Volleyball, Basketball, and
Golf.
All Falcon athletics and activities are under the
guidelines of the Mississippi High School Activities Association. Falcon teams
frequently compete for district and regional championships. More information

CLASSIFICATION CREDITS
Students are
classified according to the number of credits they have earned. Required
classification credits are listed below:
- Sophomore (10th) 6 credits

- Senior (12th) 17 credits
Students are required
to have 24 credits to be considered for graduation.
