Ridgecrest is considered a remote location, many people plan a day out of the
area for shopping. Lancaster is approximately 85 miles away in the
direction of Los Angeles and has many major stores (Sears, Target, Mervyn's,
Costco, etc.), including an outlet mall.
Approximately 10 minutes from
Lancaster is the Antelope Valley Mall. This mall offers businesses
like Harris, Gottchalks, JC Penneys, and Mervyn's for your shopping pleasure. A
wide variety of small stores, from clothing to books, videos to shoes, and
everything in between are also offered.
If you travel in the direction of
San Bernardino, you will find the Victorville Mall. It is
approximately 90 minutes from China Lake on Highway 395. Stores such
as Mervyn's, JC Penneys, Harris, Casual Corner and a variety of specialty shops
can be found there.
If you enjoy shopping outlet malls there is a large
mall off of Interstate 15 (north towards Las Vegas), approximately 90 minutes
from China Lake. It has more than 100 stores offering everything
imaginable.
Albertsons and Stater Brothers are the two major food chain
stores in the area. Stater Brothers is on China Lake Blvd. and
Albertsons has two locations, one on China Lake Blvd. and the other on Norma
Street.
Ridgecrest offers a wide variety of fine dining
restaurants. Want fast food? No
problem. Ridgecrest has most of the fast food chain businesses.
