The New Parent Awareness and Education Program is offered through the Fleet and Family Support Center.

Their goal is to provide support and guide parents during pregnancy and early infancy. To focus on parent/family's strengths to build a confident, nurturing and stable home environment. The team assists caregivers in reducing isolation and stress. They also promote an effective and non-violent discipline, which strengthens and nurtures the parent-child relationship. Keeping families healthy, strong and resilient within the military lifestyle.

Through a variety of programs including home visits, prenatal and parenting classes, the program helps cope with stress, isolation, and everyday demands of parenthood and military life.

The Navy Marine Corps Relief Society Visiting Nurse is part of the New Parent Awareness and Education Program and is available to make home, clinic, or hospital visits for providing health education.  Home visits offer a warm, caring relationship to address your concerns in the privacy of your home.  The nurse also provides continuity between patient, doctors, and military or community resources.  The Society's visiting nurse can address questions about postpartum or newborn care, post surgical follow up care, ongoing medical conditions, medications & nutrition.
