The New Parent Support Program supports expectant families and parents of children birth to 3 years of age by enhancing the knowledge and skills the parents need to form healthy relationships and to provide safe, nurturing environments for their children.

Before arrival in Charleston, you may call for information regarding the placement of your child on the waiting list for Center care. If you are interested in Child Development Home care (in home), you may pick up the list of providers who have openings at the Child Development Center.
Rates for child care at the Child Development Center are based on total family income. Those will be determined when you come into the center to talk with the specialists. Family Child Care is available through the Child Development Center to take care of school age children as well as infants and toddlers. Child Development Home program takes children from 6 weeks to 12 years old. There are approximately 20 homes involved in the program which accounts for about 180 spaces available for individual children. A few of these spaces are already taken by the children of the child care provider. Obviously, that information will be available to the individual who is interested in participating in the Child Development Home program.

Rates for home child care are based on several factors. One of those is the age of the child. The amount you will pay will be determined when you arrange for the care.
