Charleston AFB is located in North Charleston, about 10 miles
northwest of Charleston, South Carolina. It is nestled between US
Interstate 26 and Dorchester Road (SC Hwy 642). The main gate is
located off Dorchester Road; however, there is easy access from I-26 to Rivers
Gate. Both gates are open 24 hours and are controlled by Security
Forces.
Charleston does not have subway service and bus service in the
local area is extremely limited.
The average commute time to/form the
base is 30 min.
