Personnel who have an exceptional family member should contact
the Special Needs Assignment and Coordination Office(formerly EFMP) upon
arrival. This program is for family members with special
psychological, medical or education needs and helps the family locate and
utilize base and local community resources. Such assistance may
include counseling, referral, or special assignment consideration. If
you do not coordinate the assignment process with the Special Needs Office then
you may find yourself in an area that does not have sufficient services to
provide for your family member.
Families with special education
requirements should hand-carry their child's psychological evaluation (or
something that gives your child's IQ level), transcripts/evaluations from
previous school, and their Individual Education Program (IEP) to expedite your
child's enrollment in a local program.
