Following are a few of the Charleston AFB recreational
activities. You will have numerous choices of ways to have fun in the Charleston
area. The Services Squadron Web Page is your focal point for the
latest and greatest info on activities on the base. The newest
activity is the Airman's Center (flat screen TVs, movies, games, dances,
etc.) Here's a quick list: bowling, golfing, swimming,
skeet/trap, climbing wall, play grounds, picnic grounds, co-located club, hobbie
shop, and auto shop. The base also sponsors air shows and numerous family
picnics.
Youth Programs hosts numerous programs for family members of
Charleston AFB personnel. Give them a call at (843) 963-5684 and get
a copy of their Youth Programs brochure for a complete listing of
events.
For information on activities available for special needs
children/families, contact the Family Advocacy Office at (843)
963-6868. The Family Support Center Information and Referral Office,
(843) 963-4406, is also a great resource for local community information,
special events, web sites, support groups, etc.
The Outdoor Recreation
Center has a Tickets and Tours Section which can provide a lot of information on
what's happening for adults and youth. They also have tickets at
reduced cost for tourist attractions in the Lowcountry as well as the whole
Southeast region.
