Youth Services:
Youth Services of Carlisle Barracks offers
membership to all youth between the ages of 6-18 years of age who are family
members of Active Duty, National Guard, Reserve, Retired Military, Veterans and
DOD employees. A Youth Services membership entitles a youth to use the
facilities at the Youth Center and to participate in programs that are offered
by Youth Services at a nominal fee. (Current Fee Schedule available upon
request.)
School-Age Services Program:
Youth Services sponsors
School-Age Services for youth in grades 1st through 6th, for family members of
Active Duty, National Guard, Reserve, Retired Military, Veterans and DOD
Employees. During the school year, parents can choose one of three program
package options: Before School Only, After School Only, or Before and After
School. During the Summer, Youth Services offers a Summer Camp in which parents
have the option of a 5 day a week full day camp, a 3 day a week full day camp, a
5 day half day camp, or a 3 day half day camp. Hourly care is also available
throughout the year for all of our programs on a space-available basis. Program

Youth Services Activities:
The Youth Center is
equipped with pool tables, ping pong, air hockey and foosball tables. It also
offers video arcade games, a wide-screen TV with VCR, a complete stereo system
and a limited snack bar. A small library of youth interest books is maintained
at the Center, as well as a variety of board games. The Youth Center holds
various parties throughout the year, open to all post-affiliated youth.
Halloween and Christmas parties and an Easter Egg Hunt are held for pre-school
age children.

Middle School Program:
The Carlisle Barracks Middle
School Program mission is to ensure that youth experience positive individual
and group activities which compliment the school day, not duplicate it. The
activities support their need for positive social, emotional, physical, and
cognitive growth.
Youth Services Social Program:
The Youth
Services Social Program is geared towards Carlisle Barracks high school
students. Youth Services also plans occasional excursions away from Carlisle
Barracks. Some favorite trips are to amusement parks, zoos, sporting events, and
ski resorts. A Youth Council is open to all youth, 6th through 12th grade, who
wish to become involved in determining goals, introducing programs, and sharing
ideas with the Youth Service staff.
Youth Sports presents opportunities
for all ages to participate in team and individual sports. The sports philosophy
emphasizes fun, game fundamentals, sportsmanship, and physical fitness in an
encouraging atmosphere.
Soccer Camp: Youth Sports sponsors a one week
camp in August for youth ages 3 through 18. Qualified instructors guide the
soccer campers in the fundamentals of the game.
Soccer: This program is
offered in the fall and spring of each year and is open to all youth 3 through
18 years of age. All games are held on-post between post teams.
Basketball League: This program is open to youth Grades 1st through
12th. The season begins in early January and finishes in early March. While
Youth Services has its own outdoor sport court (built in 2003), the basketball
league holds all games and practices in the two indoor gymnasiums
on-post.
Skateboard Park. A state-of-the-art Skateboard Park is now
located on Carlisle Barracks. The Skateboard Park (built in October 2003) has
its own elite membership "club" (also associated with 4H clubs) for Youth
Services members only. This Skateboard Park is the envy of all other military
installations. Parent permission forms must be on file at Youth Services in
order to use this elite facility.
The Youth Sports department has also
added Junior Golf Lessons, Tennis Lessons, a Spring T-Ball League, a formal
Strength and Conditioning Program and a parent/child Tae Kwon Do
Class.
All of our sports and the Skateboard Park are available to Youth
Services members at a very reasonable fee. Other activities are offered based on
recommendations and interest.
The Carlisle Barracks Youth Sports office
is housed in the same building as Youth Services,(Bldg. 637). Youth Sports

available, at a moderate fee, for private parties for youth.

Services:
Welcome to the Carlisle area! School Liaison
Services provides access to a wide range of resources to facilitate smooth
transitions for school-aged students from one installation to
another. The School Liaison Officer (SLO) serves as a conduit of
school information and is the primary point of contact for public and private
school matters.
