Harrisburg-based Capital Area
Transit operates a public bus service in Cumberland and Dauphin counties. The 27
routes and 17 park-and-ride locations are becoming more popular each year. On
the western side of the Susquehanna River, CAT service extends as far west as
Mechanicsburg, Dillsburg and Carlisle; as far north as Enola and as far south as
Defense Distribution Region East of New Cumberland. CAT provides
transportation to Harrisburg International Airport in Middletown, the Amtrak
station in Harrisburg and Trailways and Greyhound bus terminals.
