The larger towns or cities in the local community offer a variety
of social service programs. In order to gain access to those
services, you may contact Military One Source (see Quick Links), a 24/7
information and referral program on a wide range of everyday
issues. Topics include parenting and child care, education, elder
care, financial and legal matters, and work related issues, just to name a
few.
Or you may call 2-1-1 for help in finding community, health,
disaster and volunteering services throughout San Diego County. Every
hour of every day, someone in San Diego County searches for services, from
substance abuse treatment to care for a child or aging parent. More
than 2,000 community agencies provide 5,000 health and human service
programs. Finding your way through this maze can seem
impossible. HELP starts with one little number, call 2-1-1 for free,
confidential, multilingual 24/7 information and referral. If calling
from a cell phone, use (858) 300-1-211. For life threatening
emergencies, please call 911.
