There are safe shelters available in the local community for victims of domestic violence who choose to leave their abusive partner.  Shelters are intended to provide a short-term safe haven for victims and their children.  Counseling and other support services are available to assist victims in developing a longer-term plan to ensure their safety and the safety of their children.

The domestic violence and sexual assault hotline number (1-888-385-4657) can provide information for all the shelters in San Diego County.  The availability of rooms at the shelters can be provided as well as legal and counseling referrals.
