VEHICLE OWNERSHIP
Because
different states have different auto liability insurance laws, your insurance
company will need to know where you are moving. In addition to automobile
insurance, attention must be given to driver's licenses and auto registration.
To avoid penalties, make sure all autos are properly inspected and registered
and that all family members are properly licensed.
The term "vehicle"
includes motorcycles, automobiles, trailers, vans, and boats regularly parked or
garaged overnight in Colorado.
Vehicle Registration: REQUIRED WITHIN 3
DAYS OF ARRIVAL. Failure to do so could lead to a possible traffic citation.
NOTE: To register your vehicle on base, it must meet all state of
Colorado and Buckley AFB requirements:
1. Current state residency
registration and license tags.
2. Current Colorado Clean Air Eminssion Rest
Certificate. 3. Proof of vehicle liability insurance.
4. Military/Civilian
ID card.
5. Copy of PCS/Civilian orders to Buckley AFB.
Colorado
State Law requires all motor vehicles to have a current emissions inspection and
a minimum of liability insurance in order to be operated in the state. You must
register your vehicle within 30 days, unless your home of record and license is
another state.
You will need to present the following when requesting
registration:
1. Proof of ownership or right to operate the vehicle.
2.
A valid operator's license acceptable to the State of Colorado.
3. Name of
insurance company, policy number, and expiration date.
4. Vehicle insurance
providing coverage in the minimum amount of $25,000/$50,000 public liability,
and $15,000 property damage is required.
NOTE: It is against the law to
operate a vehicle in the State of Colorado without insurance.

insurance. Please check the local phone directory for the complete listings and
then shop around to find the company that best meets your individual needs. If
