The Bukckley Child Development Program provides quality care for
military and civilian children currently 6 weeks to 5 years of
age. Air Force policies for childcare operations mandate the best
possible programs, children to caregiver ratios, nutritional requirements and
staff training. The Buckley Child Development Center has received accreditation
by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. The
center is Department of Defense certified and accredited by the National
Association for the Education of Young Children's National Academy of Early
Childhood Programs.
Registration is required for all children. Childcare
fees are based on each family's income. Hourly care is on a space
available basis.
At this time, the Buckley Youth Program does
not offer before and after school programs. Many of the local public
and private schools offer before and after school child care
programs. Many childcare facilities provide transportation for the
students enrolled in their before and after school program.
Buckley also
has a New Parent Program through the Life Skills, Family Advocacy Program with a
full-time community health nurse specialist to assist first time
parents. The specialist assists new parents during adjustment
periods. The Family Advocacy Office also offers special parenting
programs on a regular basis for expecting parents, first-time parents, and
parenting programs from infants to teens.
