Restricted Areas: Access to the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard Controlled Industrial Area (CIA) is tightly controlled. Security Area Control Badges (SACB) must be worn and displayed at all times. Personal vehicles are not allowed in any of the restricted areas.
Please be aware of designated parking spots for Pass parking, time restricted parking and no public parking. All lots have signs at the entrence designating what type of parking is available. Tickets are given for any violations.
Automobile Decaling (on-site): All privately owned vehicles operated on and parked on-base must be registered with and be eligible for a Department of Defense decal issued by the Naval Base Kitsap - Bremerton Pass and ID Office. Current requirements are: proof of car insurance which fulfills Washington State guidelines, a valid military or civilian base ID card, a current state drivers license and the current registration on the vehicle.
In past years, vehicle parking has been the number one challenge onboard the Bremerton complex. Many parking lots are designated parking only and the few "public" parking spots have a few restrictions also. Designated civilian employee lots are clearly designated. The Shipyard Public Works Department provides bus service routed throughout the base complex regularly before and after working hours to all parking lots on base.
