Finding a job in the Washington DC area can be a challenge at best. If you have a skill and want to maintain proficiency, volunteering is a great way to do it. We encourage you to pursue career interests when selecting a volunteer assignment and to seek out all available training. FREE child care is provided through the Air Force Aid Society for Air Force personnel who volunteer in support of the 11th Wing.
The Bolling AFB Volunteer Resource Program (VRP) assists base agencies by coordinating some of the volunteer opportunities. The VRP is a base-wide program designed to promote volunteerism and recognize volunteer contributions throughout the 11th Wing.
The Bolling Family Support Center (FSC) serves as a host site for SHARE (Self Help and Resource Exchange), a program that provides a means for individuals to drastically cut their food bills. SHARE is a non-profit organization that buys food in bulk from food growers and brokers, then sells the food in packages to individuals who perform volunteer activities. Each package may be purchased for $15 plus two documented hours of volunteer activity.
This creative program promotes community involvement while providing a way for individuals to decrease their food costs. The program is open to everyone; there are NO INCOME RESTRICTIONS. In addition, individuals may purchase more than one package to meet their family's needs.
There are temporary positions available in the National Capital Region for most occupations of interest.
It would be best however, to contact the Family Readiness and Support Center for a better match on the type of temporary employment you desire.
