The men and women of the 11th Services Division operate and maintain some of the finest recreational and service facilities in the Air Force.
The Ticketmaster outlet at Bolling's Tickets & Tours office is the place to get tickets for special events and concerts in the area. You can purchase tickets there for Orioles baseball, Redskins football and Wizards basketball games, as well as numerous other attractions such as Busch Gardens, Disney World and the Baltimore Aquarium. Discount movie and theatre tickets are also available. Tickets & Tours also sponsor monthly excursions to exciting places like New York City, Atlantic City, and Ocean City. The Tickets & Tours office is located in the Skills Development Center.
The Community Center offers a variety of community and family programs. It has a large ballroom for squadron functions and special events, a small group meeting room, a music room, and a game room with large screen television. Beginning, intermediate, and advanced child and adult piano and dance lessons are offered.
Located in the Community Center, Pettini's Restaurant is the place to get your fill of pizza, pasta, salad bar, and sandwiches. This is also the place to hold meetings or that special party.
The Base Library has more than 27,000 books, books-on-tape, videos, DVDs, magazines, and periodicals. Library computers provide access to numerous periodicals, newspapers, business and social issues databases, electronic books and practice college tests. Internet connectivity is also available at the library. Other equipment available includes photocopiers, faxing service, and a microfiche reader/printer. The staff offers library orientations, children's programs, test-proctor service, reference assistance and much more.
The Auto Skills Center offers a wide variety of services for our customers, including UPS, Do-it-Yourself repairs and U-haul trucks and trailers. They also offer monthly maintenance classes.
Bolling's "Capital Cove" Marina is located on the Potomac River, which is a natural artery to the Chesapeake Bay. The marina features docks and open slips with electricity, dry-lot storage, a maintenance area, transient berthing, launching ramp, marina ramp pass, emergency pumping service, charter sailboats and affordable rates.
At the Slip Inn Restaurant, located right on the Marina overlooking the Potomac, you'll find the best fried chicken anywhere. Have a beer and play a round of eight ball while you relax. They can also help cater you next get together.
Children can take advantage of the many recreation programs at the Bolling Youth Center. The center offers a summer day-camp program, self-directed activities such as color TV with VCR, etc., instructional classes such as ballet, tae kwon do and gymnastics, and both before- and after-school day care. Sports programs such as youth baseball, basketball, soccer and cheerleading are popular activities. The facility features three classrooms, a full-size gym, a basketball court, pool table, ping-pong table, and video game system. Regular activities include roller- and ice-skating, outdoor adventure trips, movie nights and the Keystone Club. Teens can also earn money for college by participating in the youth "YES" employment program.
The Outdoor Recreation Center sponsors seasonal programs such as horseback riding, hiking, fishing, camping, skiing and rock climbing, as well as a special trip to horse racing's Preakness Stakes in Baltimore. The staff also handles all reservations for Bolling's Giesboro Park and Bolling Green picnic areas and operates the base swimming pool. Swim teams, water aerobics, pool rental and group and private swim lessons are just some of the services available.
The Equipment Rental Center offers a wide variety of leisure equipment at reasonable prices. Items for checkout include camping equipment such as tents, lanterns, sleeping bags, backpacks, and sports gear such as skis, snowboards, bikes, softball and baseball gear. The center also rents small boats and outdoor grills. The resale operation offers propane gas, boat fuel and live bait.
Giesboro Park and Bolling Green Picnic areas consist of eight covered pavilions, an 18-hole miniature golf course, basket ball court, children's play area, sand volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, and restrooms.
The Skills Development Center offers a chance to work in a frame shop, woodshop and photo laboratory. There is custom framing, gifts, presentations and more all at reasonable prices. The center holds monthly "how-to" classes in woodworking, basic and advanced framing, as well as film development.
The Bolling Clubs is a combined officer/enlisted facility that houses a lavish dining room, an enlisted lounge, ballroom, party and meeting rooms and two additional lounges within the club's 84,000 square feet. It is one of the largest and most prestigious clubs in the Air Force. A hot lunch buffet is served Tuesday through Friday as well as a variety of dining and lounge specials.
The 30-lane Potomac Lanes Bolling Center is home to "Extreme Bowling." The event's flashing lights, powerful sound system, and glow-in-the-dark bowling experience creates lots of excitement. The traditional bowler will enjoy the synthetic lanes and modern scoring system. The grill boasts one of the best "cooked to order" breakfasts around.
Pentagon Services Program (Air Force) provides various leisure programs and activities for active duty and civilian members working in or attached to the Pentagon. They sponsor various sports tournaments, charter boat fishing, shopping trips, and discount tickets to pro-sports events, local amusement parks, local movie theaters, etc. The "Air Force Store" has the only Ticketmaster outlet and movie rental operation in the Pentagon. Additionally, the store sells shadowboxes, plaques, White House holiday ornaments, Air Force souvenirs, assorted clothing, etc.
The Pentagon Athletic Center has facilities that promote physical fitness and fellowship among its members. An initiation fee is charged along with yearly dues. Families of members may also use the center for an additional fee. The center has facilities for more indoor athletics, including badminton, basketball, handball, racquetball, squash, volleyball, weightlifting and gymnastics. It also has a swimming pool, television lounge, steam room, lockers and shower.
