Fishing: There are two fishing ponds on base with catfish, bass,
brim, etc., and you may get to see one of the alligators that have made the
ponds their home. A permit is required to fish on base that can be procured from
the Provost Marshal's Office, bldg 584. In order to get a permit you must have a
South Carolina Freshwater Fishing License that can be procured at Wal-Mart. A
two-day permit will be given to those without a Hunters Safety Course. With the
Hunters Safety Course a one-year permit will be given. You need a fresh water
fishing license to fish in any fresh water lake or pond. You do not need a
license to fish in saltwater if fishing from a pier. You do need a license to
fish in saltwater if fishing from a boat.
Golf: Driving Range and an 18
hole golf course located at the Legends Golf Course at MCRD Parris
Island.
Hunting: On MCAS Beaufort there is a Rod and Gun Club
that you can join, this will enable you to participate in organized hunts. All
hunts are cleared through the Provost Marshal's Office. A Hunters Safety Course
is offered and needed to hunt on base. To find out when the Hunters Safety
Course is offered call the Provost Marshal's Office. You will need to bring your
South Carolina Hunting License, photo ID, and weapons registration
card (obtained through the Visitor's Center) to the Hunters Safety
Course in order to obtain your permit to hunt on base.
Marine Corps
Community Services Activities:
Auto Hobby Shop: Variety of automobile
services to include oil change's, tire repairs and assistance on major and minor
repairs.
Gear Issue: Equipment rentals to include; boats, campers,
camping gear, deer stands, canopies, tables, chairs, grills, ski vests, sleeping
bags and much more. There is a cleaning charge for campers, boats, cookers and
some equipment if returned dirty. To obtain a boating permit you must view a
70-minute video on boating safety and operation, complete and pass a 50 question
take home test. Open daily including weekends 8am - 5pm.
Bowling Center:
Open bowling, adult and youth leagues, 12 bowling lanes.

Single Marine Program: The SMP addresses the
specific quality of life concerns and issues of single Marines, geographical
bachelors, and single parents. Marines are America's most deployed
force. The SMP creates a forum in which the junior enlisted Marines
can discuss QOL issues and recommend solutions, plan recreational activities for
their peer groups, and assist MCCS in promoting existing events and activities
to all single Marines.
SMP activities are as varied as the single
Marines the program serves, because the program belongs to the Marines.
Activities range from recreational and sports, health and wellness, life skills,
career progression, community involvement, and addressing quality of life
issues. Most important, the program creates a communication channel between
single Marines and their chain of command.
Swimming Pool: A swimming pool
is located on MCAS Beaufort and open from Memorial Day through Labor
Day.
Lassiter Theatre: Open Wednesday through Sunday, cost
$1.00.
Hard Corps Caf: Enlisted Club, open daily for menu and buffet
lunch and some dinner hours.
Officers Club: Open to all ranks for daily
lunch menu and buffet. Some dinner specials.
Marine Corps Exchange:
Offers a line of men and women clothing, stereos, CD's, greeting cards, small
appliances, household items and foot wear.
Other MCCS Activities: Barber
Shop, Dry Cleaners, Alterations Shop, Military Clothing Sales, Gas Station,
Mini-Mart, Food Court, etc.
