Seeking employment in a new area can be difficult without
professional assistance. The Family Support Center's Spouse Employment Program
can help individuals obtain gainful employment on Beale AFB or in the counties
surrounding the base.
If you're not sure what type of job is right for
you, the Family Support Center staff can help by conducting a career assessment.
Once you've identified a career choice, the staff can help you prepare your
resume, assist in your job search and understand interviewing techniques to
ensure you are job-ready.
Since Beale is in the center of five very large
and diverse counties, spouses may need to commute off base to find they type of
job they really want. The spouse employment coordinator can help orient spouses
to the communities surrounding Beale AFB and help identify which county offers
the best employment opportunities for them.
The Family Support Center's
Discovery Center is a one-stop location for job openings both on and off-base.
The center has internet job resources, books on employment related topics and
computers for customer use. The Discovery Center is a great self-help tool when
trying to find the right job.
Additionally, a representative from the
State's Employment Development Department has a satellite office in the Family
Support Center. This individual can help spouses secure employment with the
State of California.
