The availability of child care at Beale AFB has been an ongoing
challenge. The Child Development Center has limited space and often-times has an
extensive waiting list for infants through two years old. The Family Child Care
program for in-home day care offers professional and safe care in a home
environment. Family Child Care is available for drop-ins, part-time and
full-time care. The number of licensed providers can vary greatly, so you should
contact your sponsor to identify potential child care providers prior to your
arrival. Beale is currently experiencing a shortage of in-home providers. Family
child care is an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking in-home, self
employment.
Before and after school care is operated by the Beale Youth
Center. Call 530-634-4953 or 634-4955 for more information.
When PCSing
into or out of Beale AFB, the Air Force Aid Society sponsors child care for
PCSing families. This program provides 20 hours per child of paid for child care
within 60 days of PCS departure or arrival. Care is provided by Family Child
Care licensed daycare providers. Stop by Family Support Center for information
and a certificate. A copy of PCS orders is necessary to receive the
certificate.
