The Shreveport Regional Airport is located in West Shreveport,
approximately 15 miles from Barksdale AFB, and easily accessed by driving I-20W
to the Monkhouse Drive exit. Delta, American, Northwest, and
Continental provide jet express or air link service to other major
airports. USAir does not offer jet service.
Shreveport has the
only public bus transportation, Sportran, however, it does provide service to
Bossier City and Barksdale AFB (with limited stops). Location: 400 Crockett St.
Hours: 5:55 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Friday; 6:25 a.m.-6:05 p.m. Saturday; 8 a.m.-4:30
p.m. Sunday.
Greyhound bus service is available with its terminal
located in Shreveport. Terminal operates 24 hours
daily.
Several car rental agencies are available throughout the local
area, some of which are located at or near the airport.
Taxi service is
available from four separate companies, as well as, several limo
services.
Amtrak service is available in Marshall, Texas, approximately
30 miles west of Shreveport-Bossier. Buses leave Holiday Inn Downtown
Riverfront, 102 Lake St. at 8:50 a.m and 6:45 p.m. for Longview, Texas train
station.
