The Shreveport-Bossier City area offers a variety of shopping
venues to satisfy every desire. Traffic is generally not congested
and all areas of both cities are easily accessible.
Pierre Bossier Mall
located at I-20 and Airline Drive in Bossier is the closet mall to the
base. Over 80 shops and services, a food court, and several
restaurants await you. Dillard's, J C Penny, Sears, and Stage are the
anchor stores.
Mall St Vincent is located at 1-49 and Kings Highway in
Shreveport. The area's finest upscale shopping destination features
over 50 stores, including Ann Taylor, American Eagle, Abercrombie & Fitch,
Banana Republic, Gap and more.
Pierremont Mall, located at 4801 Line
Avenue in Shreveport, offers specialty stores such as Stein Mart and Toy
Fair.
Bayou Walk, on the corner of Youree Drive and East 70th Street in
Shreveport, is home to Barnes & Noble (complete with Starbuck's!), Old Navy,
Petco, Party City, Office Max and much more.
Bossier Corners, on the
corner of East Texas and Airline Drive, conveniently located near the base in
Bossier offers Chuck E. Cheese Pizza, Old Navy, Books-A-Million, Office Depot,
Pier 1 to name a few.
University Place, on the corner of Youree Drive and
East 70th Street, is anchored by Super Target, Dress Barn, T J Max, Best Buy and
Bed Bath and Beyond.
New Shopping areas are literally developing
daily. Access to grocery stores and drugs stores is
plentiful. Both cities offer Super Wal-Mart stores and Bossier also
has a Super K Mart. Home Depot and Lowe's has stores are located in
both cities. You will also discover many quaint boutiques and antique shops to
delight and surprise you.
Bossier City sales tax is currently 8.75% and
Shreveport sales tax is 8.6%. Tax rates vary in unincorporated local
areas from 7.35% to 8.0%. In some smaller local communities, such as
Haughton and Benton, the sales tax rate is 9%.
