Numerous pre-school child care options are available in the local
community.
Head Start operates 15 locations in the
Shreveport/Bossier area. The Early Head Start Program is available
for children 0-3 years old. The Regular Head Start Program is
available for children 3-5 years old (5 year olds could not have been eligible
for kindergarten). There are often waiting lists for this
program. Income requirements are based on the household income and
the number of family members.
