Conducting a successful job search involves being prepared and
using available resources to find out about job opportunities in your
geographical search area. The Pearl Harbor Fleet and Family Support
Center (FFSC) can assist you in both of these areas. In addition to
workshops and individual appointments, the FFSC's client resource center has
several computers, a laser printer and a library with over 250 titles - all
devoted to assisting job seekers in the process of searching for a career,
preparing for a job search and finding out about job
opportunities. Employment Counselors can also provide you with access
to the Joint Employment Management System (JEMS) job bank that is on-line at the
web address above right. The JEMS Job Bank contains an average of
1,400 job listings on a monthly basis from approximately 4,000
companies.
Job assistance is available using the "long distance"
method. An Employment Counselor will assist you by providing
information about the Hawaii job market, assess your work history and job
skills, provide various job search information, and also provide access to the
