When you arrive at Naval Base Kitsap - Bangor, report to the Duty Office in Bldg. 1100, near the Main Gate. The duty office personnel will assist you in getting in touch with your command. If you are arriving by car, you most likely are coming from the Tacoma area, or are arriving on a ferry from Seattle. By car from Tacoma, get on Highway 16 (off of I-5), follow Hyw 16 west to Gorst, then follow Highway 3 north toward Bremerton and to Silverdale. The Main Gate exit is well marked (look for signs for Naval Base Kitsap-Bangor /Keyport). If you arrive from Seattle by ferry to Bremerton, follow the signs to get to Highway 3, and follow it north to Silverdale. If you arrive on the ferry from Seattle to Bainbridge Island, follow Highway 305 west to Poulsbo, then Highway 3 south toward Naval Base Kitsap - Bangor.
If you arrive at the Sea-Tac airport, you can take the Bremerton-Kitsap Airporter van service to get to the base. The Airporter is located at the Parking Garage, Level 3, Island #2. The vans depart from early morning to late evening. For more info call (360) 876-1737 or 1-800-562-7948. Military fares run about $17.00 one way. Reservations are not needed from the airport.
There is a USO at the airport, located in the main terminal, second floor. They will have food, a place to sleep, videos, and many other things to assist you while you are at the airport. Call them at (206) 433-5438.
