The Branch Medical Clinic (BMC), Atlanta, is an outpatient
facility only. Unfortunately, there is no military treatment facility
in the Atlanta area with an emergency room or inpatient
capability. BMC Atlanta is currently open from 0700 until 1600,
Tuesday through Saturday. Primary Care appointments are necessary
prior to reporting for chronic, follow-up, or routine care. Personnel
with serious medical problems should not hesitate in reporting to the clinic as
soon as possible for care.
The Medical Officers assigned to the Branch
Medical Clinic are the Primary Care Managers (PCM), or "Gatekeepers" for all
Active Duty personnel in the Atlanta area. Authorization from the PCM
is required prior to making an appointment with a medical
specialist.
Physical examinations are performed on Wednesday and Friday
mornings for Active Duty personnel, and Saturday and Sunday mornings for Reserve
personnel. Appointments for physical examinations can be made by
calling the BMC Physical Examination Dept.
For family members,
non-availability statements are not needed in the Atlanta,North Georgia area,
the area is primarily TRICARE. The Tricare/Health Benefits Advisor is
the POC for Tricare, United Concordia Dental, Exceptional Family Member Program
and Supplemental Insurance Plans. HBA hours of operations are
0730-1100 & 1300-1500, Mondays through Fridays. Appointments may
