DITY Moves, known as Personally Procured Moves, provide an alternative to moving household goods using rental equipment or privately owned vehicles. You may move all or part of your personal property using this option.
The Government will pay you to move your personal property, but you must be very organized and keep good records to include all paperwork, highway toll costs, weight tickets, etc. Make sure you compare the costs of vehicles that you want to rent and make sure that you arrange for help on both ends for loading/unloading your items.
