The Naval Station Great Lakes exists to provide training for
sailors going to the fleet and to provide recruit training. All other activities
at Naval Station Great Lakes exist to support training.
The Command
structure of the Naval Station Great Lakes is simple. Naval activities at Great
Lakes fall into three basic groups: component commands of the Naval Station
Great Lakes, the independent commands/activities and DOD tenant
commands.
