Antelope Valley is a friendly farming / ranch community in the high
desert of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Communities surrounding the Housing area
include Walker (pop. 500) 5 miles South and Topaz Lake, NV and 8 miles North on
the California/Nevada border along Hwy 395. Basic goods and services such as a
general store, gas, and independent motels and restaurants can be found in these
areas. Independent motels and restaurants in Antelope Valley operate
seasonally.
Antelope Valley is at an elevation of approximately 5000 ft.
The Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center is at an elevation of
approximately 6800 ft. rising to over 11,000 ft. in some training areas. Heavy
snows generally occur at the 7000 ft. elevation and above.
