million.

beginnings as a railroad terminal to its present status, a hub for world air
traffic. Over 4 million people reside in the seven county area that
makes up metro Atlanta. Besides being one of the largest state
capitals, Atlanta is a regional center for the United States
Government.
Atlanta is a beautiful city from any place or
angle. The skyline is breathtaking, the architecture superb, and the
parks are splendid. The city is full of wonderful places and events,
for all to see and do.
Atlanta was the site for the 1996 Summer Olympics
and, in 2000, the National Football League Super Bowl and the Major League
Baseball All-Star Game. In 2003 it hosted the Women's Final Four
basketball competition and the NBA All-Star Game.
