On September 25th, 2008 President Bush signed an Executive Order intended to cut through some of the lengthy red tape required of military spouses applying for U.S. government jobs. The federal government has now written the final regulation to implement the Order, giving supervisors the flexibility to bypass the normal hiring process in order to quickly hire a military spouse who is qualified to do the job.
