Computers offer many ways for storing important information. Parents and teens making an electronic family album together can be a creative way to store, save and share information with each other.

Existing software packages such as Microsoft Word/Powerpoint or Corel WordPerfect/Presentations can be used to create your album.

The album can contain important events in your lives, pictures, and descriptions of places you have lived, family stories that you want to save, and pictures of special people in your lives.

The album also can be used for creative expression, such as stories, letters, poems, plans for projects, computer art, and things you'd like to do together in the future.
- If the entire family uses this computer, you may want to protect some of the files in the album with a password that only parent and teen can share.
How will this activity promote the parent-teen relationship?
Creating an electronic family album allows you to do much more than store pictures.
It opens up a way to communicate about important events in your lives and to preserve your memories of these events well into the future.
You may find connections with one another that you did not realize existed.
You also may find new interests to share.

If you and your family do not have a home computer, there are other ways to gain access to one:
• Public libraries
• Installation libraries
• Coffee houses
• Internet cafes
• Schools
• Youth centers (if you go to one of these places, make sure to bring your own floppy disk!)
