Directions: Located within the Baltimore/Washington corridor, situated in central Maryland, there are numerous points of interest convenient to Fort Meade residents - Annapolis (20 minutes away), home of the U.S. Naval Academy; Baltimore (20 minutes away), birthplace of Babe Ruth and the Star Spangled Banner and Washington, DC (40 minutes away), our nation's capital. Maryland borders Virginia, Pennsylvania, Delaware and West Virginia.
The installation lies four miles east of Interstate 95 and one-half mile east of the Baltimore-Washington Parkway, between Maryland State Routes 175 and 198. Fort Meade is situated within the communities of Odenton, Laurel, Severn and Columbia.
From Baltimore-Washington Airport (BWI):
Leave the Airport (Aviation Blvd) Take 195 to the Baltimore-Washington Parkway/MD-295 South exit towards Washington, exit #7A. Take the MD-32 East exit towards Ft Meade. Get in the Left lane go straight to NSA gate on Canine Rd. Access to NIOC Md is different/ separate from the base (Ft Meade). You must have a badge for access to the NIOC Md area, advise the NSA gate guards that you are reporting for duty to NIOC Md.
From Points South: from US-50/Washington Beltway 395/495 take Baltimore-Washington Parkway/MD-295 North towards Baltimore for about 16 miles. Take the MD-32 west exit towards Columbia (the Ft Meade exit is closed. Immediately take Baltimore-Washington Parkway/MD-295 South towards Washington. Immediately Take the MD-32 East exit towards Ft Meade. Get in the Left lane go straight to NSA gate on Canine Rd. Access to NIOC Md is different / separate from the base (Ft Meade). You must have a badge for access to the NIOC Md area, advise the NSA gate guards that you are reporting for duty to NIOC Md.
