Combined Force Captures Taliban Facilitator

From an International Security Assistance Force Joint Command News Release

KABUL, Afghanistan, Feb. 9, 2012 – An Afghan and coalition security force captured a Taliban facilitator and detained another suspected insurgent in the Nawa district of Afghanistan’s Helmand province today, military officials reported.

The leader provided insurgents with weapons and coordinated attacks in the Washer and Nahr-e Saraj districts, officials said.

In the Shinwar district of Nangarhar province today, a combined force captured a Taliban leader and detained several suspects. The leader specialized in explosives and conducted attacks in the district.

Yesterday, a combined force in the Panjwai district of Kandahar province found and destroyed 2,534 pounds of marijuana.
