Traffic - Alabama traffic laws apply on Anniston Army Depot. Seat
belts are mandatory for all occupants of a vehicle. Children age three (3) and
under must be in a child restraint system.
Vehicle Checks - All vehicles
entering or leaving Anniston Army Depot are subject to search.

Registration - Vehicle Registration at Anniston Army Depot is in accordance with
AR 190-5 and ANADR 190-5. All permanently assigned personnel are
required to register personal vehicles (no more than three (3) can be registered
at a time). Proof of insurance must be provided. One-day vehicle passes may be
obtained while waiting for documents to register vehicles.
Visitors on
official business may obtain a vehicle pass for one (1) to thirty (30)
days. Visitors staying over 30 days will be required to check with
the Badge and Vehicle Section, building 367, for information.
Accidents -
All accidents should be investigated by a Law Enforcement
Officer. Drivers involved in accidents causing $250.00 or more in
damages must complete an SR-13 (State Safety Responsibility
Form).

Criminal Offenses - U. S. Criminal Code Title 18 and Alabama
Criminal Code Title 13a are the basis for criminal investigations under the
Assimilated Crime Act. Criminal cases are referred to the Magistrate
Court, Ft. McClellan, AL and to the U. S. District Court for Northern
Division of Alabama for prosecution by the U. S. Attorney.

0800-1530. Out-of-state registrants, as well as out-of-country
registrants, must have a current driver's license and must pass an eye test and
a written test. The fee for a written test is $5.00 and the fee for a driver's
license is $20.00. Dependants who are 15 years old must have a
certified birth certificate (original from vital statistics - no other document
is acceptable) and a current school enrollment form that may be obtained from
the principal's office. Dependents who are 16 years old may have a certified
birth certificate or a certified school record and a current school enrollment
form. All fees are the same.

Military Extension Policies: Procedures
for military extensions apply to residents who are out of their state or
province on active military duty. Where automatic extensions are
allowed, two qualifying rules apply; the license had to be current at the time
of entering service, and proof of active duty must be carried with the
license.

REGISTRANTS have 30 days to register their vehicles and 10 days to transfer or
obtain a metal tag if a new or used vehicle has been purchased. Proof
of insurance is required and a valid driver's license is in order to register a
vehicle. Calhoun County has a staggered purchase system for renewing tags which
is based upon the first letter of the last name.
