Special
Education
All city schools have a special education department with a wide
variety of services to offer. Included in these services are education for
students with speech/language impairment, Autism, Developmental Delay, Emotional
Disturbance, Hearing Impairment, Mental Retardation, Multiple Disabilities,
Orthopedic Impairment, Other Health Impairment, Specific Learning Disabilities,
and Traumatic Brain Injuries. Students range between the ages of 3 and 21 years
of age.

The Alabama
Institute for the Deaf and Blind offer many advantages, education, and training
for students that are visually impaired, hearing impaired, or have various other
disabilities. Students range between the ages of 3 and 21.

CONDUCT AND
BEHAVIOR:
Dress Code - A student's school dress will consist of clothing that
is neat, clean, and is appropriate for school wear. Students are not to wear
muscle shirts, tank tops, spaghetti-strapped blouses, bike pants, boxer
shorts, or bandanas. Baseball caps and other headgear are
not allowed at school except for sports activities.
