Standard Diploma/Advanced Diploma Programs: A diploma
will be awarded to students who have passed the Alabama High School Graduation
Examination and who have earned 28 Carnegie Units. These units must
include: 4 units of English - Grades 9, 10, 11, 12; 4 units of
History-Modern World History, Early American History, Modern American History,
and Government/Economics; 4 units of Science-Physical Science, Biology and 2
Science electives; 4 units of Math- Algebra A, Algebra B, Informal Geometry,
Informal Algebra II (beginning with 2000-2001 freshman class), Math and Society
will be offered as needed to students who need a fourth math credit; 5 units in
Health Education; 1 unit of Physical Education/Band; 9.5 units in Elective
subjects; .5 unit in Computer Applications; .5 unit in Fine
Arts. Transfer units will be determined by the
principal.
Special Education students who have been in attendance twelve
years, who have completed individual programs and who do not receive a diploma
will receive a Certificate of Graduation.

All high schools are state
accredited. Community and business support is strong. Free
school bus transportation is available to students in their respective school
zones. Special transportation is available as needed for students with
disabilities.
All students receive a Student Handbook at the beginning of
the school year as well as a Code of Student Conduct. These booklets
include all the rules and regulations each student must abide by.
Dress
code - A student's school dress will consist of clothing that is neat, clean,
and is appropriate for school wear. Students are not to wear muscle
shirts, tank tops, spaghetti-strapped blouses, bike pants, boxer shorts, or
bandanas. Baseball caps and other headgear are not allowed at school
except for sports activities.
A no fight policy is in place at all
schools.
Nutritionally balanced lunches are served
daily. Breakfast is also served in six of the elementary
schools. Free and reduced cost meals are available for those who
qualify for the program.
