There are many different options in the local community for
preschool care. HeadStart of Albany, Albany Advocacy Resource Center,
state of Georgia funded Pre-K programs, and private providers all play a role in
providing care to the area's young children. While it is not
required, you may want to speak with the Children Youth & Teen programs
and/or the School Liaison Officer to find out what programs are available in the
exact area in which you plan to live.
Some programs have different
eligibility requirements and registration times, so consulting the programs is a
good idea if you are unsure when and how to register. Waiting to the
last minute may result in you having to pay for care that might have been free
under one of the HeadStart or
pre-K programs.
