Educational Programs
Radium
Springs Middle School offers many enhancements to classroom instruction. Our
school has four computer labs operating every day. We also have a Math lab
that's available for students. Students have the opportunity to use the CCC
Reading Lab for enrichment or remediation during connections classes. Our
Vocational Technology lab offers students computer-assisted experience in a
variety of real world applications of technology. We also have a full computer
lab that offers instruction in keyboarding, graphic design, and Internet
research skills.
Students at RSMS participate in the Accelerated Reader
Program. This is a program designed to boost students' reading skill by letting
them self-select books on their individual reading levels and earn points with
computer-based tests on the individual books.
Radium also participates in
the Georgia's Choice-America's Choice education design program which focuses on
methods to create student-centered classrooms that allow students and teachers
to achieve their full potential. We have the S.T.A.R. (Student Transition and
Recovery) program that offers after school tutoring for students who are not
performing in the classroom. The Soar to Success Reading Intervention program
also offers after-school tutoring on all grade levels with transportation home
provided for all students. JUMP is a mentoring program that assists students
academically and socially. The Delta Academy is a program of enrichment that's
provided to young girls in Math and Science.
