Colorado Springs is a military community. There are
four other military installations (Peterson AFB, Cheyenne Mountain, Schriever
AFB and Fort Carson) in the local area. Cheyenne Mountain is a
geographically separated unit of Peterson AFB. Access to Cheyenne
Mountain is strictly controlled. Access to the other installations is
gained by displaying an Academy vehicle registration tag or by showing a
military ID card.
