The 210,00+ labor force
represents federal government installations, tourism, aerospace industries,
manufacturing, and a number of headquarters for national organizations including
the National Olympic Committee and several religious
organizations. Of the total labor force approximately 40,000 people
are employed by the federal government at Fort Carson, Peterson AFB (including
Cheyenne Mountain), Schriever and the United States Air Force
Academy. About 25,00 people are employed by high technology
manufacturing companies. The service portion of the economy remain quite
extensive due to the continued emphasis on a robust tourism
industry.
PLEASE NOTE: For your job hunting purposes,
be sure to bring with you all employment records and information, resumes,
federal employment application, transcripts, certificates, licenses,
etc. The private sector economy is fueled by service
industries. Technical skills are in great demand. In the
service sector, many jobs require unskilled workers such as fast food
restaurants and retail sales. Openings always exist for experienced clerical
workers.

address what and who they are seeking to hire, Human Relations representatives
